Who is Phenomenon?
Phenomenon is a DJ/Producer & seasoned engineer based out of the New York City/ Metro area. Born in Brooklyn, he grew up listening to Motown, Doo- Wop, & Adult Contemporary. At age 7, he was exposed to Hip Hop music by a friends older brother with the Slick Rick track “Indian Girl.” From there, his fascination only grew, listening to artists such as Naughty by Nature, Nas, Wu- Tang, Biggie Smalls, Talib Kweli, Jay-Z, & The Fugees, just to name a few.

At age 15, he got his hands on his first set of turntables. With no knowledge of the art of DJ’ing, Phenomenon self taught by recording his mixes to tape deck and listening back, critiquing everything. Through self promotion at his high school & local businesses, he landed a residency at a local club.. That was in 1997… 17 years later, you can catch Phenomenon DJ’ing for the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field, for home games. He has DJ’ed events for MasterCard, Delta, HBO, & even Diddy himself.

In 2008, Phenomenon started Boogie Island Productions with business partner, Midnight Black, based out of the NYC area. This was the breeding ground for tracks used by artists such as Troy Ave, Joel Ortiz, and Allure. Today, Phenomenon works with artists all around the world, in genres ranging from Hip- Hop, R&B, Reggae, Top 40, & Dance.

“I want visitors to benefit from my site, whether one of my tracks inspires them to write an incredible song, or one of my ‘How To’ videos clears up how to mix a snare drum. My goal here is to help my fellow artists stay motivated & offer my work and knowledge thus far.”
