@Memento Beats - Welcome back! Glad to see you still working on tunes!

Tasty:

I'll preface my notes with the fact that I'm not a fan of trap beats. That being said, this is a well produced beat. You have all the hallmark sounds (bells, mallets, analog drums). I like the details with the snares panning, drop outs, filter sweeps. My main critique is that first melody get's a bit played out. I like when the additional instrumentation comes in during the chorus. Maybe a subtle counter melody or some call and response bits sprinkled through would help.

Violent:

I really like the synth intro! The little slides keep interesting. I feel like you could've gone crazier with synth parameters but this is nice. Again, nice work on the details with the drums and filter sweeps. The big bombastic horns are my favourite part of the beat. I always like the pairing of synths and acoustic instruments. The synth line through 2nd verse is a nice touch too. I find that rich synth sounds can wear down the listener over time, so changing it up was good.

Psycho/Maniac:

Based on the shortened song structure and similar sound, I'll comment on these two together. Again, you have all the hallmarks and they're well produced tracks. I mean this as politely as possible...kinda lacklustre. Maybe it's listening to 4 similar beats in a row coupled with my general disinterest in the genre.

I like your song structure and mixes. Some counter melodies or a "wow" element could really make these next level beats. I kinda think of beats as an outfit. A simple navy blue suit isn't particularly stunning. However, if it's made with quality material (sound selection) and tailored to fit properly (mix) it starts to look (sound) polished and high quality. Add in nice shoes, pocket square, and a tie (melody/harmony) you have a something the viewer (listener) can identify with and remember. Wear a nice watch and that's your "wow" factor.

@Bandia Gotach - when they inevitably make 'The Matrix 5' you should do the score. You're blend of classical, industrial, hip-hop, is definitely one of a kind! There are soo many good things going on in this beat. That wailing, falling violin sound adds tons of emotion and atmosphere. You could've easily used a stock piano or mallet sound, but using that lofi sounding piano adds even more texture and vibe. This is sick! Thanks for sharing.

@Tomblr - Big nostalgia trip listening to this. This style of underground/boom-bap was the soundtrack of my teenage years. I really like the sample choice and the chops. Did you make this on the MPC 1000? Making standalone instrumentals and beats for rappers are very different - and I like that you managed to keep the beat interesting without it distracting from the rappers. Speaking of, while I don't understand a word, they both have a good flow. The DJ cuts are cool too. Really dope!

@Bandia Gotach Cool beat—got a hypnotic, trippy vibe. Pretty dope overall.

I feel like the drums could use a bit more low-end punch, and the hats sound a little too robotic. Maybe try adding some swing or randomizing the velocity to give it more groove.

The arrangement was cool—I could definitely hear this in a movie or TV show scene.

Keep cooking, dope track.
