This is how I've looked at it for years now, and the same can be said for basketball too. A lot of stuff is the same. I know someone will mention that there's dope shit and "you just have to look for it", I get that, but the majority is the same. Even the underground type of style today, a lot of guys have the same flow and come with that raspy "I'm hungry" voice.Best line is that, if you open old hip hop it's gonna be something different... (I.e LL, vs Luda, Vs Nas, vs Fab) but today everything is the same beat... People making love song on the same trap beat and same kill ya mom trap beat.

That's what I mean. I know things change, but how did we go from Emcees like LL, KRS, Nas, etc to mumbling on purpose? The worst part is these "rappers" today and especially the fans, they don't even know who the older artists - and they don't care.

Yeah because nowadays it's just something to do, and has nothing to do with the history of Hip Hop. They would probably laugh today if they saw an MC Hammer video (although we all laughed at MC Hammer, but it was still the shit).
When I was at the studio a few years back with the youngsters they just werent interested in boombap. If it wasnt drill it may as well have been Little Richard.
It's so weird because we grew up listening to older music our parents listened to, then it just transitioned into our music. Now it seems they don't care about anything from the past. Oh well, they're the ones missing out on some amazing music.
