    Yea I got it fixed at the apple store. My laptop was still under warranty so the repair was free. And yea the apple care coverage should cover it as well.

    go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > and open Sounds Click on the Recording tab and make the volume is turned up. Just play around with the settings. If u have trouble just click on the Configure button and follow the steps from there.
