question about the matrix in reason.....

i usually use a keyboard for my melodies but it is possible to do hip hop melodies on those things but its long and tedious. one thing i use them for is to trigger long samples on the nnxt. just turn the scale knob down so it lasts as long as the sample and then have it play whatever note your...

what up--- name: JmAAfia location: San Diego, CA style: it sounds like if you were to lock a jazz band up in a dark room somewhere in india with nothing but a zippo and a bunch of old records, kept them there for a few years, and then took a picture of them and dropped the picture in a...

    Mpc 1000/2000

sorry if this question is a obvious but im still researching into this whole thing-- on a 2k and up, are you required to record and sample directly onto the mpc itself or can you get a zip drive on your computer and drop samples to there and load it back in the mpc?

    Should i or shouldnt i????

Its my understanding that you can hook up a midi keyboard to the mpc and you can also control things with those pads (mpc heads might have to expand on this because im still kind of curious about this too) peace

    Should i or shouldnt i????

im goin through the same thing right now and after getting on a 1000 at guitar center, i decided im gonna save up and get one--the thing with the 1000, in my opinion (after researching a bunch about these things) is catered towards integrating software and hardware. it's small, it has a usb...

    Reason Techniques

and nothing beats sampled breaks---my advice to you is get recycly and some type of sampling or recording program--anything you can plug a turntable into to get samples from that to your computer--plug that into recycle, rex2 it and then you either just play bak the loop in the dr. rex or do the...

  17. Agent Smith

    is it worth it?

yea--i was talking about actual recorded samples--i feel you on the mpc tip but i just dont know which learning curve is higher--an mpc or a keyboard--it seemed to me the keyboard was easier but then again i dont know much about these thinigs

    is it worth it?

thanks guys-- now new question-- my style is dark, dramatic and crusty--that means taking a lot of shimemring samples and dragging them through the mud--which one out of the fantom or the triton will give me more possibilities and capabilities in terms of sample tweakage? sorry if these...
