@nobodyelse - now that's tight! drums got a nice old school feel to them. the piano smooths it on out. if i had to nitpick, i would say add a bit of tremolo to the keys to set them off that much more. but that's just my flavor. i like this track nonetheless.- wrightboy

@nobodyelse - i hear you. i grew up in miami. i heard ALL of that music, just not on the radio. for me, it was all about word of mouth. friends who came down from NY with tapes every summer. and my uncle was a dj, so i used to raid his stash. yeah, we had some of it on the radio down...- wrightboy

layer it with different volumes, and octaves of the same sound. it's all about perception. there are a lot of ways to trick your mind into hearing what you want it to hear. also use panning with the layering. -

the key is layering. i usually layer sounds to get them to thicken up. you can also use delays. -

we will NEVER run out of r&b/soul records to sample. the key is to sample them differently. just like with the sample flips on this board, everyone has a different take on the same song. so as long as creativity exists, there will be material. hell, we've lasted for (in dac's example) 33...
