    3d beats

Waves has fx plugins for surround sound and a whole lot of other great plugins that I've learned to love

Ever try to Re-Make any of your Favourite beats?

I agree its great practice. On the same lines as guitar players playing other peoples stuff all the time or piano players learning other people's sheet music.

    What about Cubase?

I use Cubase for everything even if its rewiring reason through it. I can achieve anything through cubase that any other DAW can and more. Anyone that says its not good seriously doesn't know how to use it.

Ever try to Re-Make any of your Favourite beats?

One time I was messing with some Orch sounds on a vst and I heard this perfect hit and played it out when I realized it sounded exactly like the strings on In Da Club. Then I finished the whole beat from memory and got it pretty close. IMO it can be harder to remake a beat than start a new...

    Hi-Hats

Hihats are also used for energy particularly in southern beats. You will hear a lot of crunk songs that have the hihats tapping slowly in the first bar of the verse and then double speed for the second bar while the drums go crazy and then back down again.

so i found out i used the same sample as...

that sucks guy and no offense but I dont like your version at all. The Victory beat is amazing I don't care how much effort went into it as long as it sounds good. That song has always been a favorite of mine. In time you will probably learn that most of the hip hop classics are fairly simple...

providing a Hook along with a beat for an artist

I think good producers are the ones who have no problem telling the artist what they want to hear or at least give examples to get them in the vibe. I saw a video where ODB was in the studio with Pharrel and he just straight up asks Pharrel "what do you want me to do i'll do it". Once you get...

Built Like That New Video Scott Storch Timbaland Diss New

You sound like a dumbass quit acting like you hang out with Storch and Timbaland why would you say they don't write their stuff when you have no idea about it whatsoever? Also its been proving that Timbaland stole beats so you are obviously making shit up you phony little goof troop.

    FUTURE OF PRODUCTION? Open Labs...

you can download samples online of different hardwares and see first hand how the quality can't be captured in emulation. in hardware these sounds are being actively/dynamically made and are not simple samples being replayed when you hit a key. Trust me I've spent days looking for a substitute...

    You Produce AND Rap...??? WACK....?

When you produce you are spending a lot of time with the beat and you see it differently than rappers that just spit over it after a quick listen. The producer feels the beat out better and knows what should go where. A perfect example of this is Dr Dre or Neptunes tracks. Not only do they...

Should you stick to one style of hiphop to improve your sound?

personally I think you have to be able to compose to make a decent beat. even if its mostly sampled you still use basic composition knowledge to add drums and bass and whatever else you put into it. I do pretty much only compositions nowadays, it just has more benefits imo as far as not having...

    Mixing the Master Channel

Tricks There are some fairly common tricks to panning I hear a lot of producers doing lately. First off panning should always be done carefully enough to keep the mix symmetrical or even. Hihats don't have to be in the middle as long as they are balanced around the middle. Have a closed hat...

    Article Comments: Less Is More!

This is true but its mostly true because many producers don't master well enough (hell I don't either) to fit tons of sounds in without clashing frequencies and still leave enough room for the artist. Its all about the melody though. You can have quite a few tracks and instruments going but if...

    containing/maintaining replay value/crisp in production

As far as production goes and what you can do in the actual track it has to do with the "live factor". Songs on TRL and such nowadays can get old fast because they are mostly overprocessed and lack a very important thing called dynamics. Your ears can get tired of certain sounds and such or...

Wouldn't Get Far... How Does Kanye Do It

ha yea you can't "isolate" vocals from a mix its literally impossible to get them seperate so kanye pays his engineer to eq the vocals and layers other instruments so the original track gets lost in the mix

    Piano Advice

Pay for lessons. Seriously a teacher can evaluate what you already know and teach you based on that much better than a computer or book ever will.
