Any one here use the Roland's MC-909

I have done some searches through the archieves of the board trying to see if there were any current uses of the 909. I seen posts from way back about some people considering the purchase of one, but none who actually owned one. I have had mine for over a year and a half and would like the opportunity to discuss different ideas and use of the machine with anyone who has or has used one. Hollah back...............PM

yeah, I fucks with the MC-909 and it's fire.I been in love with it ever since I got it. Only thing that pisses me off is that I can't find any expansion boards for it! But otherwise, it's definately one of the most slept on pieces of equipment out there

Coo, as far as expansion boards, are you looking for used or new? I would like to get a few myself, they sell on ebay and at on-line music stores all over the net. $220 brand new is steep (per card), but I've heard some of the sounds, NICE!

Slept on yeah, but thats cool, cuz that just means if we push it and make the big deals we could be the ones to trade mark the 909 it in the industry, LOL.

When you created bass lines, do you use certain bass synths? Do you apply compression. I've created a few different bass synths, but it seems to be hit or miss when it comes to getting the deep round bass lines!

Over all when I make a beat and record it to my 8-track, I just dont seem to get the loud volume of the beat compared to pc based programs. Any advice?

If you get a chance, peep our SC site, maybe we could compare a bit! All the songs posted with the pic "Beat By PM' were made on the 909. The others my guy did on cubase!
