Basslines On The Mpc

I just got my MPC and I'm aware of the 16 levels option. "It's Dope"
But all the bass sounds I seem to have are short hits.I'm trying to make a solid bassline, not bass hits here and there.
Is there anyway to make these sounds longer and would you recommend that?
If not, can someone please hook me up with a bass sound?

Provide me an email, and I can try to send a bassline over your way. To creat a bassline from a single hit, use note variation slider. Assign note variation by pressing shift and note variation, then in the next screen it will ask you to assign a pad, strike the pad with the bass hit. then move your slider up and down while you strike your pad with the bass hit. see what this does.

the other method is to assign the bass hit to a couple of pads, try 4 pads in a row. then go into the parameters of each pad, the first one leave the pitch/tunning at 0, then the next pad put it at --10, and the next one at -20 and the last pad at -30. this will give you a keyboard effect of the same sound. you can do this to any kind of hit. Let me know how it goes...

my email address is brainbeats@hotmail.com

there is also a much better trick for bass i learned......
push the 16 levels button> press the pad with the bass hit> then switch to note variation > tuning

now all 16 pads will have the same hit with a different pitch on it...
shits hot

can you still hit me up with that sound?

ill o.g.
you can also take the bass hit -- and find a good segment of it that sounds pretty consistent and try looping it to get a sustained note (until you release the pad) -- that way when you assign the auto chromatic (16 levels), they will all play as sustained notes until you release

The 16 level deal is definetely the way to go......it is somewhat diffucult to make the bass sound cohesive on the mpc. I prefer sound modules for base, just midi it up to the mpc and use the MPC sequencer.

also with the 16 level change the overlap to mono. sometimes depending on the situation that helps too.
