Fruity Slicer
Fruity Slicer uses beat detection algorithms to slice up a wave file into pieces and then makes the slices accessible via the Piano Roll.

Parameters
Open sliced beat groove button () - Lets you import groove files (*.ZGR) created by BeatSlicer/BeatCreator. Note that the groove files do not contain the sample data, so if the Fruity Slicer doesn't find the corresponding wave file it will ask for the sample location as well.
Open and slice up a sample button () - This button allows you to open a wave file (*.WAV) and have it sliced up automatically.
Open beat slicer button () - Sends the the current sample and groove file (if one exists) to the registered beat slicer (e.g. BeatSlicer or BeatCreator) for further slice editing and refinement. After exporting the new groove file in your beat slicer you need to reload the groove into the generator ().
Dump beat to piano roll button () - Allows you to "dump" the beat to the Piano Roll by writing a sequence of notes in it (each of them corresponding to a single slice). Click to see a list of available "dump" presets.
Fill Gaps switch - Stretches the end of the slices in time to remove any gaps (when playing the sequence slower for example).
Auto Dump switch - When enabled, Fruity Slicer will dump the sliced beat automatically after loading.
Animate switch - Enable this option to let Fruity Slicer highlight the currently playing slices in the preview screen. You may turn this feature off if you experience performance problems.
Play to End - When enabled, each slice plays to the end of the loop.
Attack wheel (ATT) - Applies nondestructive* fade in effect to the slices. The more you turn this wheel to right, the longer the fade in. Can either be used as an effect or to remove clicks in the beginning of the slices. If used as a click remover, use as little amount as possible.
Decay wheel (DEC) - Applies nondestructive* fade out effect to the slices. The more you turn this wheel to the right, the longer the fade out. Can either be used as an effect or to remove clicks at the end of the slices. If used as a click remover, use as little amount as possible.
Preview screen - Shows the sample and the generated/imported groove (where each slice is separated from the rest with vertical red lines). If you hold your mouse over a slice in this area, the hint panel in FL Studio will show the corresponding note that triggers it in the Piano Roll and the Step Sequencer.
*Nondestructive - the effect is either real-time or applied to a temporary copy of the sample, so the original sample will NOT be affected in any way.

Notes & Tips
The tempo of any (correctly sliced up) loaded loop will automatically be adjusted to the tempo of your song.
As you can access any of the slices in the loop in the Piano Roll you can easily rearrange the loop in any way.
You can in the Piano Roll apply an effect (pitch, volume etc) to each slice in the loop.
Be picky about the slicing. If the slice markers aren't positioned perfectly or if a slice marker is missing, don't hesitate to press the BS button () and fine tune the slice markers in BeatSlicer/BeatCreator. We can assure you that it will be well worth the small effort.
BeatSlicer/BeatCreator also provides other methods of slicing up your samples, i.e. not only beat detection.

BEATSLICER

BeatSlicer is an FL Studio add-on that gives you the power to easily 'slice' any wav file (not only loops) into it's specific parts and edit those slices.

You can compare it to Propellerheads ReCycle except that it integrates perfectly with FL Studio.

BeatSlicer consists of a standalone editor that allows you to modify the position of the slices yourself.

Anyone who creates rhytmic music!

It's a very inspiring tool and so easy to use. A few mouse clicks is enough to create lots of new variation of that groovy loop.

It's also great when doing a remix as you can replace one, some or even all of the original drums but keep the original groove.

BeatSlicer provides information of the loop for FL Studio so that you can alter the tempo of the loop in real-time simply by altering the tempo in FL Studio.

No, it's not restricted to drum loops. You can successfully rework any kinds of rhythmic loops. Anything from a rap to a drum loop, but to achive good results the loops should be rather clean (i.e. the individual beats/events should be more or less separated from each other).

Even if you don't like the idea of using other peoples loops, it can be a good starting point. Nobody's perfect and we all run out of inspiration now and then. Use BeatSlicer and FL Studio to modify the loop into the way you want it and you'll end up with a new exiting personal loop. Dare to try it, you'll like it!

It slices a rhythm loop into its individual beats/events and then saves each beat/event into a separate a wave file. After that, it creates a groove file with position information for each beat/event in the loop.

All of these files are imported by FruityLoops to automatically create a pattern so you can listen to the complete loop on the press of Play.

The BeatSlicer contains man-years of slicing knowhow but sometimes there are things that seem obvious to the eye but are almost undetectable by software. That's why the BeatSlicer also has it's standalone interface that allows you to adjust the slices yourself :

Here you can visually edit (add/delete/ move) each beat/event marker (down to the resolution of 1 sample) to make sure the slicing will be performed exactly as you wish. The sliced beats (wave files) and the groove file can then easily be imported into FL Studio for further editing or simply to be used in your music.

FL Studio provides all sorts of editing of the loop. Simply use the familiar FL Studio user interface to edit the loop in any way, just as if you had created it from scratch.

BeatSlicer is actually a light version of BeatCreator. If you are looking for a very powerful software for editing loops that still supports FruityLoops perfeclty, check out BeatCreator.

It can do everything BeatSlicer can do plus a whole lot more. For instance: SCSI Sample Dump, Create Midi File, Powerful on beat sample editing, quantize individual events, TimeStretch drum loops plus it has a bunch of groovy tools for spiffing up just about any rhytmic loop and for creating grooves out of sustain sounds.
