Do you hear songs in other songs that aren't necessarily credited?

A good example of this is the Kanye West song 'Runaway'.

There's a string part in the song that to me sounds awfully close to a part in 'Nothing Compares To You' by Sinead O'Connor.

Yeah it happens although I don't know if it's necessarily not credited. Maybe they were inspired by that song and came up with something similar.
