How to eliminate white noise without software

The software I use literally cannot cancel white noise without making the sample sound like a recording of film reels being scratched against a rock underwater, so there is that, but what other ways can I use to help eliminate- or at least reduce background noise

Unless you got a VST or synth that has a special option for that like a knob to adjust the noise setting i don't really think you can do anything else yeah use a EQ filter off the high end that will eliminate the noise. Most hardware/software synths have a button for that noise setting though..
