An interesting point is how Hiphop gets blamed for the worlds woes and the movies dont. I have watched TV an movies slowly get worse and worse to the point we have films like SAW & Hostel. And CSI with dead bodies flashing up all the time. Nah cant be that.
Im a firm beleiver in freedom of speech. And an artists freedom to express themselves, regardless of the words used. Then I cant deny the effect mainstream artists like fiddy cent have on our young. I have to put the blame on society not the music. The glamourisation of a gangster lifestyle is wrong, bling is wrong.
Telling the story of a daily struggle to survive is right. And should never be stopped.

Agreed, but as an artist that has control over what you as an individual produce and promote , you DO have control over that aspect and the delivery system thereof..

But when the people that promote or sell the records(The big labels mainly)have a preset notion of what to put in the public domain then certain types of music get selected by A&Rs. In the past few years that has been the Gangster, Bling bullshit. But at the real end of the day, aint nothing that gets released and gets airplay that doesnt have to be cleared by the government.
In the Uk thats the case anyway.
