latency in nuendo - help!

I've just switched over to using battery for drums rather than rewiring reason's nnxt. When I play along to the track on my MPD16 evrythings bang in time ( latency is near enough zero). However, when I hit record, the sequencer seems to lag almost a full 1/16th note behind the track when it writes the midi track. So when I play back the drum tracks way behind the rest of the track.
Don't understand how the recording latency is so different from the 'live' latency.
Would really appreciate some help before my mpd gets thrown out the 5th floor window.

I used to have the same exact problem when I switched audio interfaces. I don't remember every exact step off the top of my head, but the basic fix is to go to devices, device settings, then find an option that says "use system timestamp" if there is more than one checkbox that says this, check them all. That should do it!

cheers - found it. Was in device setup -> windows midi. Knew it would be one little setting that was off.
