Illmuzik's own Detroit emcee/producer Lion the Uncommon Samurai is back with a new EP entitled 'Artificial Shortage'. Time for the review.

1.Reacquaint feat. Dacalion (5 out of 5 Classic)

Awesome dark wu-tangish piano beat. Lion flows effortlessly as always. Dacalion creatively scratched a Malcolm X speech!

2.Headphones On feat. TeeJei (5 out of 5 Classic)

Probably the strongest effort on the EP. Loving the smooth vocal sample. This track's about music in general. The guest (TeeJei) while not spectacular holds his own.

3.My Hometown feat. Hollywood & TeeJei (3.5 out of 5 Fair)

Obvious theme here. The chill beat is somewhat atonal. Solid track.

4.The Ghetto's Lament feat. TeeJei (4 out of 5 Good)

Solid bass-heavy beat. Lion and TeeJei talk about the realities of the Ghetto.

5.Rebel Action (4 out of 5 Good)

The beat uses a cool violin sample. All in all it's a solid anthem track.

6.Coming Through Shinin' feat. TeeJei (4.5 out of 5 Very Good)

Another braggadocio song. Feeling the horns and massive drums. Lion sounds very convincing on the mic while TeeJei delivers a decent performance.

Conclusion: this is a very solid EP from a talented, well-rounded artist.

Final Score: 4.5
