I need ur advice on this one.I'm looking into logic pro 7,do you think the that logic 7 can duplicate the sound of the asr-10 with the effects and sample options that logic 7 has or should just buy more soft synths and keep the asr-10?

Logic 7 seems to have everything for making beats from synths to samplers to a drum machine to effects and midi sequencing,I'm looking for ease of use and sound quality, when its comes to programing music, software or hardware as long it sounds good.

The reason I ask is when you listen to records like timbo's(ASR-10 USER) "headsprung" and "dirt off your shoulder" those drums and sounds hit hard and have a dirty & banging feel to them.Is it possible to get that same dirty sound for my VST synths and drum bang out of logic 7's filters and effects or should I stay down the asr-10 path?

Logic is very good you will be able to do all of that in logic as long as you have a decent midi controller and know how to program your drums to hit like that. You can use to of Logics plug ins to get that sound.

Logic Pro 7 is hot. A lot of cats are going over to Logic because you have a complete set-up that is portable. The key to getting your drums to hit hard and sound dirty is where you get your drums from. You can sample from records, layer and run sounds through vintage analog gear or find a site online that has already done this for you. I prefer finding sounds online to use.......check out www.p5audio.com or www.soundcrafting.com. I've brought drums from both of these sites and the drums are hot, hit hard, and dirty or clean....depending on what you need. If you want to do it yourself....find a record store, purchase a record player and get to sampling. But be warned, sampling takes time and and dedication.
