M-Audio !?

Hi, im just about to build my first studio, i woz going to buy the m-audio oxygen and then an m-audio FW-410 but i've now seen the ozone which seems to be a cheaper alternative and has both features of the midi keyboard and the in/out device. Though its not going to be as powerful as having both together, its cheaper. Im going to be using them with reason and cubase. And im planning to get a set of monitors and headphones and thats about it to start with maybe an MPD !
What do you guys think ?

About the firewire 410 vs the ozone? Do you need many in/out? If you don't got with the ozone. Do you need the pre-amp in the firewire 410? if you don't get the audiophile firewire. Do you really need the firewire? If you don't, maybee a used usn audiophile would do the trick...

My point is, if your starting, I don't think you need to get the biggest audio card m-audio sells...

i got the firewire 410 about a month ago and its great. No u dont need a preamd its comes bulid in. Are u gotta do is plug in your mic(s) and Headphone(s) and your good to get. Preamp is build in.

But yea dnt has a good point gotta choose what fits u. I choose the firewire casue of is portabiltiy. "I was sampling a fine chick on a airplane last week" It isent cheap though but so far it has been worth it

yea thats a good point, i think im gonna go for the o-zone now its pretty cheap and is a good start all in one kinda thing, ive already got a decent PC, and all the software i need ! and i've got vestax decks and a mixer so its a decent start i can build on.
