midi question

i have a yamaha psr keyboard i was wondering if i could run a midi wire comming out of the yamaha and into my oxygen 8 and use the yamaha as a midi conttroller, i love the ox8 it just doesnt have enough keys the octave up and downs are apian when yur tryin to play sumthin my yamaha has 61 keys id love to use it for midi

Yes you can, run the midi out from the yamaha to the midi in on your Ox8 and check this site out for more details on hooking up midi devices.

You must set the psr to local though. I used to have a psr260 without manual, but I found that the midi button in conjunction with the numerical keypad corresponds through the midi menu. Like midi+1 you can select midi chnls (1/16 or all), you can select them y pressing the first sixteen keys from the first octave.

If it has no midi in, it cant be used as a slave ( hooking it up behind your psr ). After reading an article on the oxy, I was under the impression that it could be used as a slave but I guess I was wrong. It can't be done.

from what i read itl ooks like i can do what i want but i dont have the manual for my keyboard the psr292 i got it a long time ago cuz i been playing for a while but i just jumped into midi recently ,do u guys think it would be difficult or possible at all to set up my keyboard to work with this equip.?

Read former post, thats how to set midi for the psr. There should b a black knob with a midi function...
