This is whats goin on. I am trying to set up a basic studio right now. I am tired of running my sm58 to my SB Live 5.1's. I am looking into different sound cards by M-Audio right now.

What I want to be able to do is connect my dynamic up directly to a 1/4th jack in my card. I also do not have studio monitors yet, but plan on getting them in the future. I have some nice Klipsch Promedia speakers presently. I am trying to decide between getting the Audiophile 2496 or the 192.

It looks like the 2496 would be the wrong choice as it doesnt have 1/4th inch inputs and outputs, but I'm confused because the more expensive 192 doesn't have RCA's? Studio monitors use RCA's correct? Also, is there a spot on the 192 for me to connect my existing computer speakers in the meantime?

OK, after doing some of my own research, I have answered my own question. It looks like I am going to need to purchase two 3.5mm stereo (female) to 2 mono 1/4" (male) Y-cables to be able to hook up my computer speakers and my headphones.

Do I have this right? The output diagram for the 192 shows that each of the 2 outputs have a left and right; so this means that each output has 2 mono connections.

I am just trying to make sure I have everything I need before I get the card because I don't want to get it off ebay and find out I need more shit to get up and running.
