Man you have to think of a theme and start building a resume, find out who the DJ's are, and yes you will have to settle for getting on your local or local syndicated radio show at any hour man,,,,,it is very difficult to break a program manager's scheduled shows for a stankin local producer....I had 6 of my songs on a local station played in Full during the Dead Presidents interview segment on the one nation hip hop show, I wouldn't be setting bars on what you won't do especially if you haven't broken any airwaves reaching a 50-100 mile radius, exposure is exposure...2 or 3 at night on a Saturday is a good time a lot of cats are leaving the club etc...especially if you are in a big city man....but aside from that, most stations already deal with a company or individual that generally is contracted for spots and ads and sometimes the DJ's know producers or produce themselves....you have to approach this like you are looking for a job and market yourself and your product......find out local events and promoters...do some promotions for them.....do you live near any colleges with a radio station????? you have to use them too...I mean it sounds like what I am saying is being an asshole but thats how it is man....you must put in some work if you want to get something out of it.......establish relationships, get names and contacts and start working the contacts.....listen to existing advertisements and think of a way to do them better, or even do a commercial for the station with your tracks or get someone to voice over your beats and have a cd with the examples of the skills you have.....1
