programing your synths

how good are you at programing your synths?

are you able to get the exact sounds you want when you edit the presents?
can you recreate sounds you hear in your head?
how long does it usualy take you to program sounds?
do you have any synths that you just caint figure out how to program?
what sort of sounds are you best at programing?
what sort of sounds are you worst at programing?


i know its sort of alot of ?'s but im just curious......

Are you talking about romplers or vintage analogues ?

So far, in both catagories it is a matter of experience since every brand will have their own protocol in how to manage a synth's menu and parameters. And all jargon and protocols differ but actualy do the same thing hehe. I've had my share on those old roland modules.

how long does it usualy take you to program sounds? sumtimes 5 minutes sumtimes 5 hours
do you have any synths that you just caint figure out how to program? ya those wack animal sounds
what sort of sounds are you best at programing? prolly bells and horns

i was talking about romplers, since that what i hade in mind when i created this tread (i only own rompers and VA's no true analog here)


i used to own a korg Z-1 that a freind gave to me, it took me about a year to learn how to do any decent programing on that thing but once i did it was a wrap, that thing is the greatest, i use the moss board on the triton now and i love it, some times i dont even make any music i just sit there and edit presents and play the sounds that i create.

but... i own a jv2080 and i love it also... but its realy difficult to program, ive always felt that way with roland gear.. and it doesnt help that it is a rack unit.
