Looking to make my own mixtape style beats. not sure where to start, looking for the best program that i can take a sample from youtube a movie or some shit and make my own music around it.

google "youtube to mp3", then paste the url of the video in there and covernt and download the mp3.

As for which DAW to use, if you are a total beginner use something like garageband which is free apparently. To see if beatmaking is something for you, its not for everybody and even close to as easy as you think it might be, but with practice and determination you will get there, then you can invest in some better equipment and software
