sampling 2000xl again

i cant seem to get the exact sample i want....wtf is my problem...im starting to get frustrated....listen, i take my sample from cd....but then when i get to trim it, it doesn't trim the way i want it to.....i highlight the field i want (the start and end parts)....but then when i play x it doesn't play the highlighted part, WHY???????.....i wanna sample a beat and then loop it and make that beat.....gimmie sum help pleaze...thanks

Hit a pad to play the highlighted field.
But your still going to want to chop off the un-highlighted area with the edit button.

play x will play ALL, if that is the setting in the plax field. you can change the stting in the plax field
