Sampling Off An MP3 Player

Ok, here's the problem. I have a great track that I want to cut up, I only have an MP3 of the song. The song is mixed in such a way that the woodwinds, are mainly coming out of the left channel and the brass is mainly coming out of the right channel. The percussion is split between the two. My question: is there anyway to rig up a mechanism that would allow me to sample the combination of those two channels as one, like you were sitting in front of a left and right speaker on top of one another?

Convert the mp3 file to wave before you sample it. Acid pro,Sound Forge, wave editor or wavlab will do this for you. Maybe someother wave editors....those are the ones I have. Most "good" sampling programs allow you to convert a stereo file to mono. Propellerheads Recycle allows you to do this I know for sure.
