Now a month ago i worked on a project at the local radio and we had to transfer reel to reel recordings to a pc in digital format. So we had a mixer hooked up to the computer and the reel player. So we send the signal from the reel to one of the channels of the mixed and recorded this way the signal in cool edit pro. this was with all the popping and hissing and all that shit. I think the same would work for a turntable. What I know for sure u'll need some sort of a mixer through which to send the signal to the computer. So say u wanna sample a cartain track from a vinyl, just record it with sound forge or whatever else u use and then chop it up and do your thing. If u don't process the sample, it will come with all the hiss and popping from the vinyl.
Have in mind, I never done this shit with turntable but i think it will work.
