That's messed up! I think what's even worse is that once people's power came back on, most of them probably turned on the TV, stereo, computer, all the lights, put on a load of laundry, nuked a tv dinner, AC, etc. And for all those that make beats - did you turn on all your gear right away and make a beat because you were inspired from not having any electricity?

It makes me think of back in '88 or so in Montreal, there was a province-wide blackout (if I remember correctly). I was downtown at night when it happened and all I could see were the street lights just go out in a row, all the way down to the end, it was classic. Right away store owners locked their doors and kept everyone in, to prevent thieves.

It's funny though how people react in certain situations like that. Say you're in a magazine store and you're reading stuff, then all of a sudden the power goes out through the whole city! Lots of people, their first reaction is to steal as many magazines as they can, and then run out the door, LOL.

I had just made a beat the hottest I ever made and right before I was able to get a flopy and save it the power went out....Ok it wasn't the hottest I ever made ..the good thing is I remebered the exact sounds and tempo I used where I live my power came back on at 3am I'm a night owl so the first thing I did was made it over and saved it right away...I named it black out... I'll posted in the next showcase...I should upload sometime today

all my mpc beats are on floppies as well but if the dudes at the computer store can't save my data then all my FL files are ghost
