my answer is, dont play mainstream artists, find the best of the up and coming unsigned talent on the internet, play that and pay the artist a fair royalty. not some figure dictated by the big labels that includes their extortionate cut. the labels have brought hiphop to its current state of affairs and its no longer about the music or the message. its about stacking papes, and then stacking more. greed is the disease that eats hiphop, Michael Douglas in wall st was wrong, greed isnt good. hit the greedy fucks where it hurts, in the wallet. dont waste your money on these 1 or 2 track albums. i remember an old hiphop saying, "keep it real". dont buy into the manufactured culture that is bling. pipedreams aint real.
