What is an .NRG file?

If anyone is familiar with the sample cds distributed by companies such as Pro Samples or Best Service or Time & Space, you might be able to help me out...

I'm thinking of buying a Pro-Samples cd. I found out that some of their cds are in a format which has the extension .nrg at the end of it. Before I rush off and buy anything, I want to make sure I have the right software...

Can anyone tell me what the extension .nrg means and what software would open an .nrg file?

.nrg is a very popular Nero CD-Image File extension. It can be opened using Nero
