Expressive Drum Loops: Do “Expressive” and “Drum Loop” belong in the same sentence?

Yeah, I purchased so loops from ModernBeat. There actually some good rhythem loops. I used them as a starting point when I just want to track a quick idea but found that when you chop them a rearrange them they sound much more entertaining. They were worth the money.

when u start to make a beat do u start with the verse part or with the chorus part?

I don't think about at all once I'm amking a beat. The chrous usual incorporates some of the verse parts. I change the drums so they come up just a bit in the mix, different seqence here and there. It all up to your preference when making the track. You may do a chrous that totally off from the...

    Copyright question

Man, they got folk at these label that make a living just listen for a song with a sample. You can't just cover up the sample with instruments. You need to chop it up play it backward, filter it, process it. If you're doing a mix tape then use the sample cause you may not generate enough revenue...

Who puts hooks on their beats?

I think you should put a hook on beats. The reason is this what seperate the beat maker from the producer. If you just make beats then don't put a hook on it but if you have an idea of hhow you would like the track to go, then shot. I put hook on almost all my beats cause that just me. I spit so...

    OK another COPYRIGHT question..please help

Yeah, I would be careful with try'n to copyright a song with a sample. Basically sample clearly is a hard process if you don't go at it the right way. Even before you think about sample a song you should get permission. You can take the chance at doing the song without consent an then send it to...
