The Hip Hop scene is pretty dead around my neck of the woods. Kansas City's underground scene is haunted by terrible rhymers and weak ass beats. Not too long ago, Cassidy went to this club downtown and battled any cat willin to bet $100 a round, but other than that, ain't nothin going on...
I usually go there to listen to the songs and test my diggin knowledge, but when I went there today, it was something else. I would just like to know what is going on!

IMO, I like when song just have a straight loop. Good Morning is a good song because it just fits, his voice, the feel of it, all fits together, and when it all boils down thats all that matters. (I feel the same way with Thief's Theme)
I also like when a whole song is taken (i.e. Ghostface's...
I suggest usin a portable turntable. They're fairly cheap and good to use while your out diggin.
Me personally, I just choose at random. Whatever I use, I use. And whatever I dont use right away, I'll get around to usin later on. But that's just me.

My question is, how do you do it? I realize that you would need some sort of turntable (would a portable one work) and a sampler (MPC, ASR-10, somethin like that), but how do you connect them together. I found a whole lot of records and 45's at this garage sale and I wanna start sampling off...
...and Jpeg, I went to hiphopsite.com and you was right. Jay Dee did alot of shit I didn't even know he did. thanx for that post.
Vintage and Unreleased huh? OK, I think imma check that out. thanx Truth.

Thanx for the feedback everybody. I might just pick up the instrumental album then since yall sayin the rhymes are wack (I didn't even know they rapped on that album).
I got another question. What are some good J-Dilla instumental albums to get? I heard a few of his beats and I think he's...
Do anybody got this and should I cop it? Madlib is my dude, and I was gonna get it based on the sole fact that I like his beats so much, but Jay Dee, I know who he is but Im not to familiar with his work. Could someone refresh my memory on what he's done.
Gimme some feedback before I decide...
I got the Ghostface "Pretty Toney" album not to long ago and I was listening to "It's Over"
and it has a sample of a song called "I'm afraid the masquerade is over" and noticed it kinda sounds like Biggie's "Who Shot Ya". Does anybody know if these two songs have the same sample or do they...
