    Digging Wudge-U-Cop-While-Digging-Today?

trykrome, I wouldn't trust that book on those values. Whatever it says I doubt you'd get close to $45 for any of those. Except maybe The Who if it is like new. Still, some decent finds for the price.

    Linking Beatslicer to FL Studio

I was actually working with FL 4, but I upgraded to 7. That sorted it Thanks for the help.

    Anyone thought of this

You are right about the stylus disphunktional, but if I had something historical on a 78 I'd be playing it on a new turntable to look after it. The weights and balances are far superior and create less friction between needle and record. Don't use alcohol based cleaners either, they destroy...

    Linking Beatslicer to FL Studio

I hope somebody can help. I use FL Studio and have just installed Zero-X Beatslicer on my system. When I click on the sample properties menu and tell FL to open a sample in Beatslicer, nothing happens. Anyone know how I can tell FL to recognise and find the Beatslicer? Thanks.

    Anyone thought of this

I've messed around with samples from that era, you just have to find the right sound. You'd be better off using a new turn table to play and sample 78s. The older phongraphs are pretty rough on them. I think it's probably a bit of a fantasy that those old 78s are being ignored. There are...

    Whats your Sample Philosiphy?

I DJ and do a lot of juggling and mixing tracks, so that's influenced my approach. A lot of my tracks have resulted from me mixing up on the decks and liking the combinations I hear. I'm trying to shrink the size of the samples I use. I can use pretty long ones sometimes. But it's all good to...

    Gotta Love Cheney's Company

So you're not from China. As it turns out, a bloke called Bill Mollison was able to construct the genealogy of some Aboriginals and prove they were full blooded Tasmanian Aboriginies. Disgusting info in that article.

How do you know if its Rare

thaprecepta, I live far from Detoit, Australia in fact, but it's Detroit sounds I seek above all else. Especially all the smaller soul labels, like Revilot or Golden World, that's where you can hear the Motown musos at their rawest.

Sorry Stress , 2good, the conspiracy is over.. =)

You going to use a ouija board for that interview relic? Is this Bin Laden tape more convincing than the last one from a few weeks ago? In that one he spoke for four minutes, the video froze and he kept speaking for another twenty over a still frame.

How do you know if its Rare

Some early Isleys is rare, so is some Motown. The right Motown 45 will net you a couple of grand. Never knock back a yellow label Atlantic. Even the biggest labels have rare stuff on them. Sometimes they'd sign some crazy obscure artist and then never promote them. Some 1960s soul on Columbia...

    Week of April 18, 2007

All nice mixes Ice Man- It has a Kanye West kind of feel about it. The strings give it a real rootsy blues style. I like all the sudden cuts. Low G- You put a lot of bounce into this track. It feels kind of up, but still bluesy too. Mercury - Radically different sound, sort of dramatic...

    accapellas

Most of the accapellas I use come off 12 inch singles from my collection. So I play the original version of the vocal I am using alongside the instrumental track I am creating and synchronise them together, much as a DJ would when doing a beat mix. This usually works but I have had occassions...

    funniest records you own

It was top 5 down here in Australia, I've still got the same copy I brought when I was a kid. There was another almost identical one, Disco Gorilla or something like that by Rick Dees. Bicentennial Nigger by Richard Pryor is my funniest. I often pick up comedy or kid's records for sampling.

    Quick question

If I don't like it I don't buy it. I don't care if it's a dollar. I only want to work with what I like. But if they're free check them out or list some titles here, you could get some advice.
