Sampling - Where to draw the line.

This is a good discussion right here. I think that people who make 4-5 beats trying to improve is making a mistake. That really isn't the best way to go about things. Your ears need to adjust to shit and can't do it that quickly. At leats for me. Because I know this kid who makes 4-5 beats a...

    sampling

I don't know about hitting a wall. His recent stuff is even better than his earlier stuff. To me it doesn't matter what machine/software you use. As long as you work hard and focusing on making good music that's all it matters.

Do your prefer sampled or real-time hip hop production

There are real-time producers who can make beats just as good as samples. Like Mannie Fresh for one...if you listen to Juvenile's "Tha G Code" you'd know. I swear half that shit on that album sounded like sampled beats...but they weren't. But overall I have to say that sampling is one of the...

Which producer do you resemble the most??

I was listening to 7L and Esoteric's albums DC and DC2: Bars of Death and the beats on that shit was real familiar to my beats. I'm not saying 7L and me dig the same samples or anything like that but the style we use is very similar. More emphasis on Equalizing the sample and making the loop...

    sample flip question?

You have to listen to the ENTIRE song. If it has a dope intro then I'll just loop it. If there is a tight loop I'll loop it and then add drums and bass. If it's a dope sample but there isn't a very clear place where you can loop. Then I'll chop it up and add drums and other bullshit.
