I have been blessed with vinyl, now what?

What MPC do you have... because if you got one that has the usb, just chop in your sound editor and import to your mpc that has the usb... I love doing that... now one thing is though I sample sounds and odd shit not old songs... I just get one single note... make a program on the mpc... and...

    got lost in tha beats

I think it happens to the best of us... I usually start working on music at about 12 am and I'm comatose in the project until about 5 or 6 am... that's why I'm usually posting in between those times... It's my little break from music (besides a black and mild) without really getting to far away...

    Choosing instruments

Start off with any sound (melody) that seems right to your ear... then find a new instrument in a higher or lower octave that fits right, and so on and so forth if you have to... like the key word has been "experiment", yeah your stuff might sound a bit crappy for a while but things will...

    What mpc do you use?

Here you go man... If your just using it in the studio then the MPC 1000 is perfect... Because all the stuff the 4000 does and 1000 doesn't, can be done with software...like timestretch or reverse.... but it's a great beat machine and the sampler is fine for basics (you can change the note...

    Tempo Genres

When they get the high hats hitting like that from the south it's just their doing their beat in let's say 80 BPM... but then they do their high hats in triplets of like 1/6 or 1/32 timing...

When you're in a slump just listen to music and it will make you remember the love that made you get into it... Keep your head up

    Scott Storch

I agree with PG myself... I don't care if the guy has 10 eyes as long as his stuff sounds good to my 2 years and 1 soul

    Tempo Genres

I'm sorry but this all sounds like "fuzzy math" if it's hip hop and its at 200 bpm then its some weird setting where it's really mathematicaly 100 BPM... hip hop is average is between 90 to 110... plain and simple

    'UNCLEARABLE' samples / artist list?

Nothing is unclearable... Like the one cat said if the song has potential thats all the sampled artist cares about... if it sell or helps the album sell then they have a chance at making dough... My question is have you guys ever been approved or denied access to a sample because I'm about to...

Now the question was does anyone do RnB I thought... If we're bragging about what we do then let me add that I do: Trance, Indie Lo-Fi, Music for Movie/TV soundtracks, Hip Hop, R n B, Female Vocalist (Dido Type) and things inbetween... but thats all... I'm done ranting

    Help with remixing.

That "ghetto" way sounds like the easiest way... which can definitely be a time saver

who on here makes RnB/Soul type beats/songs as well?

I'm workin with a dude right now who has anwesome voice... I can't post yet I promised I would keep it DL till the CD is finished... But I enjoy making it... I don't sample barely ever let alone with him... He and I are trying to make a new sound while we're at it, and it's definitely coming...

    Sampling Samplers

If its a sample them he's just plain lazy and lacks originality... but if it was something I composed myself like the other guy said... that would stright piss me off, cause I ain't made it in the industry yet... but if I'm a big producer or what not go ahead a sample it, I already got my credit...

would it be correct to say that Old Soul music is that most sampled genre?

I think it used to be jazz/ blues type stuff... but with Kanye hitting the scene funk and soul has made acoming back... haven't you heard, the 70's are makin a come back (Joke for the 80's babies that remember an old commercial)
