    MPC vs Roland...my two cents

i definitely hear that, i mean there are a lot of people on the mv boards who swear by that machine, and it was just that the timing of it felt weird to me. i've never owned a real drum machine before- always used either a keyboard, guru's step sequencer, or a usb drumpad, so this is all new to...

    MPC vs Roland...my two cents

as soon as i get my stock HD replaced ima probably do the same...im just wary of doing it now cause this hd makes so much damn noise and i feel like its about to break any second. how much did it cost u (labor included) to get yours replaced?

    MPC Necessary?

having just switched from these usb pads (mpd and the korg padkontrol) to a real mpc, i can say now without a doubt theres a very big difference. do the usb things get the job done? sure, if u got no latency and a good sequencer, and dont mind the feel. but as far as rock solid timing, sound...

    MPC vs Roland...my two cents

A couple of weeks ago I put a post up asking for advice between an MPC 4 and the roland mv8k, and since I had a chance to try both out side by side for like a week, i thought i'd just post up my 2 cents for those who might be making a similar choice in the future. at first I loved the mv8k-...

    best engineered hiphop albums

yeah i remember a while ago i was reading about some controversy that happened with def jam over the black album, apparently the engineer who did it completely messed it up and used so much limiting and compression that all the instruments and songs sounded squashed. i still can't figure why...

HOw Much have you invested in your Lab?

much better...im sittin here with the mpc 4000 and roland side by side and the roland just kills it from my point of view...loaded the same sounds into both, put filters on, sequencd the same beats, and the mv keeps coming out ahead.

    Timbaland's Gear

yeah man the production on that JT album is amazing. that track what goes around comes around is really something. i know Danjahandz, timbo's right hand man, uses the mpc 4000 and a lot of synth gear...i believe in addition to the triton he uses the korg oasys, nord lead, and a whole lot of...

    The MV8800

i just got the 8000 at sam ash for 1400, so i dont know..you'd have to be crazy to buy an 8000 for msrp these days.

Lets talk SOUND: MPC vs Roland

the 8800 is cool i guess but its really just a bunch of fx and sounds...both of which i already got too much of, and the price compared to the 8000 is crazy. its really only for cats who need a 100% in the box solution

Lets talk SOUND: MPC vs Roland

Hey guys I am looking for some advice as I'm about to purchase either the MV8000 or the MPC 4000. here is the thing; I am a logic user so I do not care about all the fancy start-to-finish stuff roland put in the MV (mastering and whatever)- I do that in logic. What I want one of these machines...
