    you're basically correct - it does include producers as well. If they sample a song it also can include the writers of that song too.

    I'd recommend trying Reason and seeing if you prefer it to FLStudio but honestly the best thing to do is MASTER one if them. Mastering ANY production equipment (hardware or software) = DOPE BEATS shiiiit, cats used to make beats using a tape recorder and the pause button...

    Producer means a lot of things Generally speaking the producer is the person who makes the beat, but if someone takes that beat and adds stuff to it or arranges, they can also be considered a producer. My advice would be to discuss it with the artist and record label and make it VERY clear...
