    i dont think it takes from the creativity at all, if anything, it encourages it because those same instruments have been used several billion times. as for suggestions for other types of instruments, there's always synths. many modern day composers are really taking synth work to the next...

    am not a fl user but i can relate a little. while reason has great sounds, they certainly are not up to par with the motifs and korgs and what nots. but you just have to work with what you have and max it out. if you feel you have done that, or can afford something better, go out buy a motif...

    sound wise you could get some of the han zimmer refills. they have some cool guiitar patches with slides and other guitar nuisances. the reason sound bank in the combi section could be of help too. as for tweaking the nx n19 to simulate them, i am no good. being lazy, i just use something off...

    Logic 7 vs. ProTools

    pro tools is the easiest program out of the three, you can pick it up real quick. i hate the fact that logic and PT however are proprietary and so require certain hardware unlike Cubase but if that is not a problem, id go for PT no doubt.

    happened to me a few times when i was saving and the computer crashed during the process for some other reason. i could not recover the file after that. if its just the one file, no need to reinstall because you cannot recover it, if its all files, try what eKim said.

    not very important. i have maudio dx4's and i can get stuff mixed on there pretty good. if you can afford a good set and got no neighbours to worry about, get one.
