Adobe Audition 2
I've been a loyal fan of Cool Edit since 98 and it took me ahwile to break down for audition. i'm demoing it now (2.0) and it is pretty amazing. The original cool edit was 20 mb and this was over 600mb, i'm looking forward to experimenting with the new 580mb's of new features -

that must be why Akai dropped the 2.1 OS with so many improvements, becasue the 2500 is a better design for workflow. I should check it out at guitar center next time in my semi regular visits drooling over the Fantom or Motif while cockin a left eye at the presonous pretube.. so much an so... -

Zooming in Recycle?
I have been using reason to chop my samples up but when i'm not drunk i'm a perfectionist and I cannot find a way to zoom further into my sample to set my points where they need to be. I try to chop samples fast, but accurate, so I can get into making the beat and i get frustrated when i can't... -

try to mess around with a low level noise reduction, medium-high hiss, and if you have pops then runa low level pop/click eliminator before anything. like fade said just mess with it and become familiar -
