Some of us remember life BEFORE the internet, some only know life WITH the internet. It's an interesting topic, and something I've found to be fascinating.
I remember my friend with a cell phone around 1998...
Maybe it's just me, but when I listen to these tracks I think of ways to use some of the techniques in my own beats. Transitions, basslines, drum patterns, melodies, etc.
I haven't checked for any House songs in a while, so it would be good to have a list here. I find most of the time it's the remixes that are dope. Like Sean McCabe, Joey Negro, Opolopo, etc.
It's not just house remixes but it's a mix of Soul, Neo-Soul, Dance, R&B. Here's some:

I think the beats are pretty good. I don't think anyone nailed it 100%, but that's expected. The point too of themes like this is to see (hear) everyone's interpretation of the 80s. It's also a good way for everyone to maybe discover a new way to do things with their beats.
Warriors was such a great movie, I'll have to watch it again soon. The grittiness of New York in the late 70's was what made this movie so great. This is why there's a lot of modern movies that try to emulate that era.
Also, this video is weird. The voice sounds like one of those speech-to-text...
