Acid 4.0 Mash up help.

What's up everyone. I am new to this site and I have learned plenty over the past few days. My goal is not producing but mainly remixes & mash ups. I am only using Acid 4.0

Two questions today.

1. What is the best way to add acapellas over an instrumental. I normally use the beat mapper to mix the acapella. Of course it loses synch. What is the paint brush about?

2. What is the reason I would need an application like sound forge? Should'nt Acid 4.0 be ennough for what I am trying to accomomplish?

Thanks in advance.

hey Reggie, as far as I know Cool Edit is one of the most powerful/user friendly wav editor programs around. You can copy-paste your acapellas on your beat exactly where you need it and it stays on sync. I can tell your decently new at working with these things so you really should try out cool edit with an open mind before you get too committed to Acid. Most people at this site use hardware or very advanced software to compose or sample their own original works. You'll learn lots at this site. welcome

yo man stay with acid for what your tryna do beleive me... ok im bad at explaining things so bear with me.... basicaly DONT USE THE BEAT MAPPER mak every thing " one shot" or whatever its called. open your beat then open up your accapela on the next track . paint your accapella on and chop it up at critical parts like choruses and bridges etc..... the postion each part where it fits best on the beat... then i beleive ricght click on each clip select properties and manualy change the pitch of each clip by semitones till every thing flows good... thats da dj approach and since im a dj dats da 1 i use ....try it ... if u aint understand what i typed or need help just holla... oh and changingin da pitch semitones is tricky take ya time with it.. takes a while b4 u can get every thing perfect...

^^^^Yes.

I break verses into 2 or 4 part phrases. It's a beast... but it works well
