Alright ma man, after inputting your samples, click on that and get the channel settings window open, its the window with SMP,MISC, INS TIME
thumb_channel1.gif

look to the upper right corner - you see a box with a number - you cant miss it, move your mouse over over the number and click and hold now slide the mouse up or down to move the number,
whichever number you pick will be the number your samples is played back through on the fx panel
so say you drag it to 5, now open the fx panel - its at the top marked "fx"
with the the fx window click on 5. you should see it highlighted
now you should be lookn at 8 rows to put fx,
now on each of these- there's a tiny little down arrow click on that slide over to plugins and choose the one you want,
once its opened, you should see the name in the row that you picked, to see the plugin right click on the name.
Note: Fruity is packed with 64 channels of fx, so its best for you not to past 16 when selecting a channel, if you need more than 16 look up to upper left of the fx panel you see A B C D, these will take you 17 and above.
Reply if ya need further help

Just a few other things besides the things mentioned here.

Djeez, quit being so serious, it wasn't criticism. And to point out how serious I am, I will type this while fixing me up a blunt.

But, point is that I can elaborate upon this if I knew what version he is using. Let suggest he's up on 4.0c for now, if not, he's screwed but other unknowing 4.0 users might find this usefull.

( peals of a skinn out the smoking package, gummside down facing me. )

1. There are timing differences with certain plugs, especialy between DX and VST. So by any chances you runn into a track that somehow lost it's flow, you bet that one dithered track is off a few ms. So keep it in mind, if it would include a mastering plug then use it on all chnls or on the master track ( 2chnl mastering ) only.

( Finished the tip, placing it on the right side of the skinn .)

2. There's a Send chnl, actualy there are 4 of em. Press F9 and voila, after chnl16 comes Send chnl1 to 4. Why would you use this if you can not select it in the instrument windows, well that because it is meant for fx only and not for dsp, I mean, I won't recommend using a compressor on the send chnls in fruity. So, that means you use it for delays, reverbs, flangers etc, anything that adds air and would not alter the dynamics. If you don't believe me you'll find out why, hence me not telling you now.
After selecting an fx on send chnl 1, you can alter it's mix by using the fader that refers to send chnl 1, but why would you ? Indeed, just leave, it's nice to f*** with, but for now pointless. Next you select and klick an instrument, a box appears with a 2digit display in the upperright corner, leftklick+hold and drag up till it says 1. You've now assigned this instrument to chnl one on the mixer ( F9 hehe). Now if you look at chnl strip 1 you'll notice that there's a 3 band equaliser on the right side for each chnl, next to that are 4 knobs verticaly aligned marked by the numbers 1 at the top to 4 below. If you turn knob(send)1 fully open you should hear the reverb over the instrument that you assigned to chnl one, all instruments assigned to that chnl 1 will have the same amount of reverb.

(put pealed camel with santa maria upon the skinn)

3. From this point there are many options now that the fx has been set in the basics. Few things worth thinking off...

- Eq Send chnls, it normal to eq reverbs for example wether it be lo or hi you wanna hear.
- Don't overdo reverbs or delays, it makes it sound better, but lets keep it at that. Also, on custom domestic audio devices used for monitoring you can be deceived as a reverb can come out with much more fx as intended to on other sound systems, so subtile use on the send assign buttons is advised.

Also think of grouping chnls, you can part the drum into hitsection, top and bottom snare, the basskick seperatly and then the cymbals.

What I also do sometimes is put a Kick with closed hit to one chnl and compres it. If you do it subtle and keep the kick a bit steady the hits will start to accent on the kick drum. You can do the same when using cymbals in a 16-beat. Or use the top snare with percussion and cymbals, keeping the bottom snare seperate.

Play with it, you can make pretty good grooves like this.
