when choppin samples up in cubase how do u find the tempo of the original i cant seem to figure this out.? good lookin out

dont really post much but the board is hot. actually learning some good stuff.

I dunno about cubase but say you have a sample that is one bar in length. Lay it down on the sequencer then adjust the tempo so the one bar loops properly. This should be about the tempo. Recycle is a pretty good program for chopping up loops and it sets the tempo automatically for you if you want it too. Check it out its not that expensive etiehr

make a basic drum loop. then play the original sample over the top of it. then change the tempo till all the hits of the sample are on time.

i have this page set as my home page http://mp3.deepsound.net/eng/samples_calculs.php it is the king of beat calculators (good for getting hz time from bpm for setting lfos, pre delays, chorus times etc.) pity there isn't a program version just this java script......... this site has all the calculators you will ever need

if it is something as simple as getting the milliseconds time for a predelay or delay setting you can times your bpm by 6 (that gives you the setting for a quarter note then go from there (divide by 2 = 1/8th note, x by 1.5 = 1/4d, x by 2/3 = 1/4t etc.)

thanks. basicall my partner chops the sample in protools and then i lay the drums but protools finds the tempo of the original for u. i know i can do it in cubase just not really sure. i know i sond like im tryin to take the easy way out but theres a way to do it and cubase will figure it out for u. when i figure it out ill post for cubase users
