I had a feeling you would come with some sou/funk! Your beat is super dope! I love the drums on this. The fills, and that live drummer feel. I think the hats could be tucked a bit further back, but that just may be personal taste.

This beat is actually from September 2023. After struggling with the MPC 1000, it sat collecting dust for a year. I decided to pull it back out and really try to learn my way around it.

The e-piano and brass where programmed in Logic pro. Simple 4 chord progression, but with several different articulations and lengths. Sampled them into the MPC 1000 and chopped them up. The drums were inherited with the CF Card from the previous owner. For this particular beat, I actually recorded the bass and guitar right into the MPC and tidied it up a bit. Tracked back into Logic and just added a few crashes and drum fills.
