Best era of Hip Hop Fasion.

My opinion of hip hop fasion today is that its gay. Basicaly throwback jerseys are hip hop fasion. My favorite era was 1990-98, because you had to be creative because there wasnt really a defined mainstream brand of clothes like there is today. There a so many brands that its sickining. Well those years were my favorite. I want to know what you guys think.

I love that 94-96 era, with the DKNY and Tommy HILL coats, If you had that and a nice cuban link you was in the game. I was on top of the world riding around in the my new 93 Acura Legend listinening to "Ready to Die" 24/7 with 2dollars in my pocket drinking a 40.

I agree from 92-97 was the best. Now its all corny throwbacks, big ass hats and clone gear.

people have been wearin jerseys for a while now it's nothing new I started seeing jersey hard when I first came home in 95 it was all about the nike and reverseable reebok joints then college jerseys or deon sander and emmit smith..now I must say it went a little too far with the throwbacks for the simple fact they cost 300 hnudred dollars but back in 95 the thing was the authentic jerseys they were regular jeresy of the players of that time and they were300 dollar then...And to call it Hip Hop Fashion is taking it too far as well there is no way to dress hip hop the jersey game been out too long .....Hip Hop is music and art fashion is fashion

Hmmm....best era to me was prolly like most have said 1994-98. Its not really that unsimilar to how I dress usually now. But sadly, as commericialisim of hiphop has grown, so have the prices. Oh well...I'm being smart now...I'm keeping all my old Jerseys and in 50 years time when throw backs have once again come back in fashion (as something will replace em soon for a while), I'mma be the coolest 68 year old guy on the block.

Although, something has to be said for the 1980's. Thick gold chains, big sunglasses, leather jackets and well fitting trousers. Oh yeah, rock those Pumas!

The whole jersey shit was nothing near what it is now, its not even comparable in fact now its a joke.

something that was and is and will always be a part of hip hop fasion is a fresh pair of jordans, from the classic 1,s to the 18,s jordans have been the rolex of footwear. I remember in october of 95 lining up outside of footlocker a night before the jordan 11's were going to be released in it's first colorway. There were brawls just get into the store, and i was the smart one cutin those kid while they were fightin. Im a collector and when i roc an insane hard to find insane pair it makes people stop and stair. Thats what an impact jordans have had.

Jordans have nothing to do with hip hop...People of all kinds wear jordans because of jordan...Jordan is the greatest player of all time that's the main reason why his sneaker was selling like crazy and along with that it became a big part of urban fashion...Urban Fashion would describe the point you're trying to make not hip hop fashion..Hip Hop is hip hop fashion is fashion causal conservative urban..Hip Hop is not the reason for the way people dress ....I guess when Kwame came out with his polka dots that was hip hop fashion

that might be true now but it wasnt 4 years ago and before because hip hop fashion is what people who liosten to hip hop choose to wear which catches on to other hip hop heads, after a while companies begin to catch on and try to cater so they can make money but hip hop fashion is more about creativty and originality which cacthes on

I know many younger kids wear certain clothes that's so called 'Hip-Hop' but I've really always worn whatever I felt like and so does many other 'Hip-Hoppers' around my age, at least here. Hip-Hop to me has never been about clothes and never will be. Sure, many subgenres adapt certain things and make certain trends part of their culture but that doesn't make it a rule and make you any less 'Hip-Hop' if you wear something entirely different. You can wear slim fit jeans, knitted cardigans ect like Steve Urkel and be more 'Hip-Hop' than the guy rocking baggy jeans, football jerseys, caps and basket sneakers...like the guy from the "pretty fly" video by Offspring.
