broken iomega zip drive

I have an Iomega zip drive that I use for my 2kxl. I haven't used either for a while and when I hooked them up today the zip drive started making a clicking noise and wouldn't stop. As soon as I plugged it into the wall it started clicking. When I put in a disk it continued to click. When I went to the load page on the MPC it said "No SCSI device detected". I'm assuming this is due to the fact that the drive is not reading the disk and is making this clicking sound. Has anyone else experienced something like this and if so what was the result? Did you have to junk the drive and get a new one or is it repairable for relatively cheap? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

thats the tick of death, try another disk

clicking means its broken. the thing thats doing the spinning. maybe could be fixed. take it to some electronics repair place. i could hook you up if you lived in toronto. shouldnt cost too much if they can repair it. maybe a quick fix?
