I've used their easy pay option 4 times and had no problems. The only thing is whatever day you place your order, that is the day they will hit your bank account every month so make sure you got the funds in there to cover it. BTW, no credit check until you hit $1000. If you wanna get around that, call them, pay whatever amount is over $1000 to get it down to $900 and you can easy pay on the $900 without a credit check, getting your gear in a few days.

i just purchased an emu xboard and firewire 410 card from them last week. stuff came in quick and easy.

I was thinking about copping a xboard this weekend. Lemme know how it is. Does it allow you to load other Emu soundsets off of their website i.e. Mo Phatt, Beat Garden, etc?

the proteus le is real nice. it has a ton of presets man, i havent even scratched the surface. i only had about an hour or so with it so heres my little review lol: it has some GREAT bass and percussion. the synths are good. acoustic stuff, not that much, and youll want to definitely tweak those. and yeah, you can expand the proteus le with the soundsets like the mo phatt and beat garden, i plan on getting the beat garden and the old instruments collection, probably even the vintage X by christmas. the thing is, you HAVE to have your xboard on and connected to use the Proteus le, it acts as a dongle. only thing i dont like about the proteus is you have to install it a certain way for it to work, and its not the way emu tells u too. i had to do over an hour of research online to get it to work. that and the fact that theres no disk streaming so it takes a lil bit to load at first and i have a centrino with 512 MB of ram, im gonna have to take it to at least a Gig of ram for it to load as fast as my other vsts. definitely make sure your pc is up to emu's suggested specs, they aint joking lol.

yes you can, but like i said, its annoying waiting for the Proteus soundset to load. See first you open the Proteus vst, BUT theres no sounds. you have to open a separate soundbank which has a ton of presets in it, the stock one called the composer pack. that takes a lil bit to load (less than a few minutes) which sucks compared to something like Reason, sampletank, or hypersonic which is ready to go the moment you open it. This of course is a lil nitpicky, becuase EMU sells many expansion banks which have so many sounds. in addition, some of the good patches will run your cpu up quick. theres this string patch that eats about 40% of my cpu just doing a little chord lol and my laptop isnt even a year old yet.
