Can You Feel This ?!?!?!?!

This isn't something that I'm going through but it's been on my mind for a minute now. When any top artist releases a new CD, there will be songs that you like, songs that you don't like, songs that grow on you, and songs that just kinda hit it off because everybody else is bump'n it. My point is this, if you make a beat and someone says that your song is wack, dont take it wrong. You've got to realize that there are a million reasons why people will put your ish down. You have the cats that don't make nothing but hot a$$ beats, you got cats the are just hating, you've got cats that don't even post beats but quick on judging your ish, you got cats that are self claimed "know it alls" when it comes to hiphop production and so on...I mean this list never ends. This thread is one of encouragement, keep making your beats, you are the sole author of it, you gave birth to it, it's yours, it's your baby so take care of it, protect it and keep moving on. Just because everybody has the same medium for expressing their work or just because everybody have the same resources doesn't mean that everybody is at the same level in the game. I recently viewed some of you cats beats in the showcase and I heard alot of ish that was str8 fire, I heard some ish that needed work but still was good. I also heard some stuff that I didnt care for that much and I heard some stuff that kinda just grew on me. Sound familar? Go back up to my 2nd sentence in this post...

In conclusion...Be yourself, be confident and never let someone elses OPINION fugg with you. Most of the time, if someone smashes your effort or just talks ish about your beat, they have other issues going on. Don't even listen to them. Listen to those that have constructive criticism and are good at giving reviews like someone that you know will be honest and truthful no matter what...I personally have 2 guys that are on this site and 4 guys that work with me in the lab that I know that I can count on for giving me a good review. "Good" as in they are good at reviewing.

Like I said in my very first sentence this is something thats been on my chest for a minute.

These days it's easier to hate on the next man than to give them props for what they do....even if it's not your style or something you personally wouldn't do. I try to take "me" out of it when I review someones music. If I don't know the style or listen to it on the regular I let them know up front that I don't know enough about that genre to give a honest review.

I never let a handful of people discourage me from doing "me". Of course we all want exceptance when it comes to our passion but if you let people in that constantly try to tear you down as oppose to building you up your passion will suffer. DON'T LET 'EM SEE U SWEAT!

MAKE YOUR HATERS YOUR MOTIVATORS! RealiZe the world is bigger than IllMuzik or the neck of the woods that you happen to reside in. If you do descent music there's somebody out there that will like it.

Nah dude Im playin but good point , shouldnt take stuff too seriously , just do you, regardless of the world..But people oughta be able to take advice as well and apply it..
IE I still have a snare that I gotta put in a beat because I got alot of feedback telling me that.

Very well said...I love the versatality of a site like this because it brings so many different styles, from that "outta this world" type beats to that "grimey, dirty south" style and everything in between. I'm like you in that if I'm not familar with your style, I won't touch it. Thats kinda like going to a brain surgeon for a flu shot. You might get fugged up...lol
