-I love the MPC and its a great piece of equipment. If you think you could find a way to incorporate your MPC beats into your computer setup, then yes, i would suggest gettin the 1K. Your not gonna need the MPD16 if you get the 1K.

-If your already comfortable with your Computer setup, then dont get anopther workstation. Work with what you got til you master it.

-Racks?
If you sample, then get an EQ and a compressor. These are not needed. But there sometimes good to have. But IMO you should only spend money on these if your a big samplin person.

If you meant racks like Sound Modules, then those would be cool. But once again, i think you should just kinda stick with Reason and master that.

agreed! I think building a Mix Room is more in reach than anything else and I'm seriously considering it. Ofc, building an entire studio is a little far fetched if you plan on doing it right without some deep pockets, even one room would be tough for some but it will make a world of a difference in your music if you could pull off at least one room custom made for Mixing.

Well first off you need a real audio interface. That soundblaster is not going to cut it! Get an audio interface with Pre' amps on it and that should get you going until you can get really nice pre amps. And man I love MPC's but I don't know if I would start out with a 1k in this day and age. Maschine or the new MPC Ren are probably better for todays production environment. Anyway lets us know how else we can help!

and PS DONT BUY BEHRINGER MICS!

and yes spend your money on real monitors!
