Everytime i boot my computer, I hear a loud beep from the mother board (area) and upon my screen reads:

1720 - SMART Hard Drive detects imminent failure. Your hard disk drive is detecting an imminent failure. To ensure no data loss, backup contents and replace this hard disk. Attribute Failed: #10

... I've tried everything. Defragging, CHKDSK, virusscanning, spy/adware scanning, cleaning the registry, EVERYTHING, to no avail.. then i tried it all in safe mode.. same stuff.

and since i have XP HOME ed. i didnt have NTSbackup, so i downloaded it and my entire comp is currently backing up to my external HD.. but how do i fix this problem? i dont know. I hope my shit doesnt crash... especially before this back up is complete. I went thru hell just to get this backup thing to work..

It sux cuz i cant produce the copies of my EP and the Mixtape w/o my comp... almost nothin works, and the shit that does work, takes forever to do so... sigh

The back up failed, and it explicity told me that if i try to restore that backup the system will crash.

I am done for.

burn all ya beat ish and important docs and re-install windows,,,it may actually be the hardrive too,,,,just back up!!!

Try grabbing an image of the drive with Norton Ghost before it crashes completely.

You can put the image on your external drive, install a new internal drive and OS then mount the image as a drive to grab data from it.

i got most of my music save files and such on my external hd.. but there are programs and vsts on my main hd that i wouldnt be able to replace.. years of them.
