E-MU 0404 pro audio sound card

im using the E-MU 0404 pro audio sound card that came wit the Proteus X software sound module........i controll the sounds on my MPC 1k but when i record the midi and save it as a wav theres hum noise...........but the soundcard im using is not the Emu 0404 im using the soundcard that came wit the computer.........later this week im gonna buy a mixer and studio so i can put the Emu 0404 to use hopefull i wont hear that hum noise again

when i was upgrading my computer,i also went for the 0404......but the funny thing is that i havent put it to use yet, i have no midi controllers and shit......i also use the soundcard on the motherboard, it works just fine, but i really wanna put that 0404 to use......do i need a mixer for it or can it work without a mixer?

you don't necessarily "need" a mixer, but it really depends on your setup.
