Alot of times I find a sound or a loop I want to use and there is some other background sounds wether it be a bass guitar, other guitars, drums or whatever. I try to clean up the sounds using various filters and eq's but I can't get it all out. What do u guys do when that happens. Do you only look for samples where the samples dont have any background noises, or do u try to mask these in your beats so you cant hear the other noises. What is your guys technique on this. Any advice helps.

If filtering and eq'ing can't get the unwanted sounds out, my next move is to either-- try to reproduce the sample by playing it myself using my synths or-- get someone thats better than I am on the keys to reproduce it. You don't have very many options. My very LAST option would be to try to mask it in the song but sometimes thats your only choice.

yeah always a tough cookie, i always try to fuck with samples with not that much other noises. but besides that eq, when faced with drums in the sample I try to put my own drums over them, like hihats are usually no problem if necessary ad own hihats with that.
When you got some high and low noises, take a shot at filtering them away in cooledit or whatever you use sometimes that can be succesfull but be aware not to take to much away and the sample will become not as full as it was although you can boost that up again if necessary.

for pops, i use adobe auditions clip/pop editor. it does the job, and on some sample i was able to take out whole drum loops(kick/snare) without effecting the quality or durability of the sample.

for high noises i use a noise reduction in adobe audtion, this works wonders, it can also filter only noise which i may use to layer drums over the clean version and get them really pete rock sounding.

u can easily take out low guitar and bass, and u can also single out each instrument as well. you'll have to run this trough several eq filters.

sometimes if i cant get a sample sounding how i will very closely eq with a adobe's equalizers and make audible the only clear parts. the sample doesnt sound the same but it will hold the same rhythm and soemtimes be much better then a cleaner more precise version.

theres allot more tricks also, this is just common sense
